Rosetta

Rosetta is a name of Italian origin, derived from the Latin word "ros" which means "rose." The name Rosetta was popularized by the Rosetta Stone, an ancient Egyptian artifact discovered in 1799 near the town of Rosetta (now Rashid) in Egypt. The stone bears inscriptions written in three scripts - hieroglyphic, demotic, and Greek. Its decipherment led to a better understanding of the ancient Egyptian language and culture. The name Rosetta gained popularity in Italy during the Renaissance period and was later brought to France by Italian immigrants. It eventually spread throughout Europe and became more widespread in the 19th century.
