Vishanth

Vishanth is a name of Indian origin, derived from the Sanskrit language. It is composed of two parts: 'Visha' which means 'poison', and 'Anth' which means 'end'. Together, they form Vishanth, meaning 'the end of poison'. According to Hindu mythology, there was once a powerful demon named Vishwathma who terrorized the people. Lord Shiva decided to kill him but as he struck his trident into the demon's heart, the latter spewed out deadly poison that threatened to destroy the universe. The gods and goddesses tried to control this poison by drinking it, but only half of it could be consumed. The remaining half fell on the ground and started burning everything. Lord Vishnu then came forward and drank the remaining poison. He held it in His throat without letting it enter His body. This is why Lord Vishnu is often depicted with a blue throat. Since then, he has been known as Nilakantha, or 'the one with a blue throat'. The day when this event took place is celebrated as Nag Panchami. Vishanth could be seen as a name that symbolizes the triumph over adversity and the power of good over evil. It could also signify the ability to control and neutralize harmful influences, just like Lord Vishnu did with the poison.
