Wenceslaus

Wenceslaus is a name of Old Germanic origin, derived from the elements "wini" meaning "friend" and "halja" which signifies "power or rule". Therefore, the name Wenceslaus can be interpreted as "strong in friendship" or "powerful friend". The name has its roots in ancient Europe, with one of its earliest known appearances being in Bohemia, present-day Czech Republic. Saint Wenceslaus I, the Duke of Bohemia from 921 to 935 AD, was named Wenceslaus and is considered one of the most revered figures in Central European history.
